nothing too new or interesting
I guess that depends your idea of new and interesting.
Liked the push back mechanic the ball has when bouncing against the wall, this made it harder for me to control the paddle and made it feel different from pong.
Yay thank you for the positive feedback now just to see if I should make a 3rd one!
Quite a good game.
Intuïtive what you have to do and good music.
I like how you can knockout the soldiers.
The game experience is good, but there are some tiny frustration points that are preventing it from becoming great.
1. The soldier jump is precise, when jumping up things I have to time perfectly where I stand to jump. This gets really frustrating, because I kept dieing and had to do the same jump again and agian. And imagine if I also have to them the same jump 3 times more because I keep falling because of the precision.
2. Increase the movement speed. Often found myself having to rerun to some area, because I I had to go through the door that I unlocked while pushing the button upstairs. Having to run this, and especially more times when you die got me really frustrated
Haha like the pain thumbnail.
I love the story of this game.
Sounds like a fun adventure, a hobo who lived on the streets and then got abducten by aliens and now has to find his way out of their spaceship and escape.
When I played the game however I had no clue of this, As I just saw a wizard in a platformer.
It would have greatly improved this game for me if you added the intro story of this game before the game starts.
The platforming in this game is playable and has good points, some blocks disappear, there are different kinds of enemies. However I found myself very frustrating, as I barely had a moment to just catch a breath and observe my environment. In the beginning the blocks immideately disappear and when I pass the first door I constantly get attacked by enemies
and also a new circle enemy that I never got too understand.
After a certain amount of frustation I couldn't help but quite the game unfortunately.
That being said I think this game could be a lot of fun. What if the platforming would start out easy with just save blocks and passing doors then later on you introduce the disappearing blocks, and then enemies? And you kept giving small story pieces every so many progressions. This way I would be able to enjoy this game and its story way more!
Thank you, this is a lost project of mine and if i were to go back and alter it i would have implemented the story a thousand times better and refined all the enemies and such. All the faults in the level design and platforming are things i must have not thought through and play-tested those years ago. But i'm glad you enjoyed it!
Love the animé feel of this game.
The music the soundeffects, the lucario and other kind of weird pokemon thingy.
The level select with mentally deficient 12 y/o makes a good sfx that fits animé feel too somehow.
I like that you can use coins to powerup.
I would have liked if I could choose my powerups myself, e.g. speed or bullet damage.
This would give me more freedom and made me enjoy more.
I also miss the controls somewhere.
Tried out various things, but not sure, would have liked this added to description at least.
The game is understandable, dodge enemies, kill with bullets and upgrades.
I like how when you survive longer the enemies get more difficult, in stage 1 the red grey creatures start coming in groups of three later, making the game harder.
Keep up the good work!
completely agree with RemileOduen
Great story bro.
Wow this game is absolutely amazing.
At first I thought what is this crap, when I interacted with the first ghost and I couldn't eat it.
I stopped interacting with any ghost, and just continue the maze, till something interesting happened.
Then I encountered the maze area where you returned to the previous area, and I knew I had to figure something out to continue to the maze. I actually went back and talked with the ghosts from that point to get an understanding how to navigate the maze. When I passed that point, I really digged the exploring feel and wanted to explore the entire maze, looking for an end.
Got confused too many times, till I found a map. Actually opened a second browser to navigate the maze alongside the map. Navigated the maze till I reached the point: this is your maze.
Interactions with ghosts are funny, in the beginning they didn't seem necessary, but as the maze started confusing me I had to talk with them to figure out what to do, bright design of forcing your content upon me in a good way.
Loved the area where you could suddenly walk through the path even tough it looked unwalkable if you walked the circle.
Exploration feel in this game is sub par! Well done
Had a feeling that something scary was about to happen all the time , but it didn't .
I think greatest improvement point for this game is music that goes along with the exploration. Besides that some replay ability would be nice: multiple endings, can't of anything else right now
Looking forward to your next game!
I tried to make a game using poetry before https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/708094
But it didn't go so well.
I think your poetry game does better, because the words are clearer expressed through the images and gameplay and some levels are also funny.
The level with squares not allowed was funny to actually have a gate drawn infront blocking you.
The level with the face monster that went insane because of you also.
Maybe the poetry comes out better because you can form your own story after an animation happens. For example when I fitted the block in the white happy face it became red and one could think, "I don't fit in, I make people mad" and then relate it to their own lifestories.
suck dude, make better games!
I hope you'll get fruggled often
Really original that you link placing and removing blocks with limited memory.
Highly polished art (player trail), general nice textured sprites.
And music, sounds good, sfx in harmony with background music.
Wasn't able to grab my attention for long tough.
At the signal part I quit
